Daily Updates

Submitting Your Daily Update Step by Step

A walkthrough of the full daily update flow — from opening the chat to posting your update to the DSM Board.

Here's the complete flow for submitting your daily standup update in Strova.

Step 1 — Open Daily Updates

Click Daily Updates in the left sidebar. If you haven't submitted today, your session status will show as Pending.

Strova automatically creates a session for today's date. If you belong to multiple teams, this single session covers all of them — you only need to go through the process once.

Step 2 — Start the AI Conversation

Click Start Update to begin the AI-guided conversation. The AI will ask you about each of the five standup areas in sequence:

  1. What did you work on yesterday?
  2. What's your plan for today?
  3. Any blockers?
  4. Any discussions or meetings?
  5. Any PR reviews?

Answer each question naturally — in sentences, bullet points, or shorthand. The AI will ask follow-up questions if something is unclear or if it needs more detail to score your update accurately.

Step 3 — Review the Structured Update

After the conversation, Strova presents a structured summary of your update — formatted markdown that will appear on the DSM Board. Review it carefully:

  • Check that all your points are captured correctly
  • Verify blockers are listed accurately (they're surfaced to leads and admins)
  • Make sure PR numbers or ticket references are correct

If something is wrong, you can continue chatting to correct it before posting.

Step 4 — Post Your Update

Once you're satisfied with the structured summary, click Post Update. Your update is immediately:

  • Published to your team's DSM Board
  • Scored on five KPI dimensions
  • Added to your weekly report data

Your status changes from Pending to Posted.

After Posting

Your teammates and team leads can now see your update on the DSM Board. They can leave comments or @mention you in a thread directly on your update.

You'll receive an in-app notification if someone comments on your update (configurable in Notification settings).

Need to Make Changes?

You can reopen your update after posting if you need to add something or correct a mistake.
