Leaving Comments and Mentioning Teammates
How to use DSM Board comment threads to give feedback, ask questions, and @mention teammates.
Every update card on the DSM Board has a comment thread. Use it to ask questions, give feedback, or flag something directly on a team member's update — without leaving Strova or jumping to another tool.
Leaving a Comment
- Find the update card you want to comment on.
- Click Comment or the thread icon on the card.
- Type your message in the text field.
- Press Enter or click Post.
Your comment appears in the thread immediately and the update author receives a notification.
@Mentioning Teammates
To notify a specific person, type @ followed by their name in your comment. A dropdown will appear with matching team members — select the person you want to mention.
The mentioned person receives:
- An in-app notification immediately
- An email notification if they have email enabled for mentions (configurable in notification settings)
You can @mention anyone in the org, not just members of the current team.
Replying to Comments
Click Reply under any comment to start a nested thread. Replies keep related discussions organized under the original comment.
Who Can Comment?
- Members, Team Leads, Admins, Owners can all leave comments and replies
- Readonly members (Business plan) can view threads but cannot comment
Notifications for Your Updates
When someone comments on your update or @mentions you:
- You receive an in-app notification (bell icon)
- Email notification is sent if enabled in your notification preferences
AI-Generated Comments
In some cases, Strova's AI may automatically post a comment in a thread to nudge a stalled discussion or flag a pattern. These are marked with an AI badge so you can distinguish them from team member comments.
